Gridfinity bins designed around what goes inside
Gridfinity, created by Zack Freedman, is a modular storage system on a 42 mm grid. Generic bins are easy — the useful part is a bin shaped for your calipers, bits, SD cards or screwdrivers. FitPrint uses a verified Gridfinity base profile, so the bins snap into any standard baseplate, and the AI designs the cutouts around the objects you describe.

“Gridfinity 2x1 bin, 3 units high, holding 20 standard 1/4 inch hex bits upright in two rows.”
“Gridfinity 1x4 bin for a 150 mm digital caliper lying flat, with finger cutouts.”
“Gridfinity 1x1 bin holding 8 SD cards upright, labels visible.”
“Gridfinity baseplate 4x3 for my drawer.”
Gridfinity tips
- Measure the drawer and divide by 42 mm to get the grid size; fill the rest with a spacer.
- Use 1 height unit = 7 mm; a 3U bin is 21 mm plus the base.
- Print bins without supports, 2 perimeters, 10–15 % infill.
