IKEA SKADIS generator

Custom IKEA SKÅDIS accessories that actually fit the board

Hand-made SKÅDIS hooks often fail for one reason: the tabs are a fraction too wide, too long or in the wrong slot. FitPrint ships a verified SKÅDIS mount (tested against the real slot geometry) and checks every generated accessory against a virtual SKÅDIS board before you print it.

Describe what should hang on the board — scissors, a soldering iron, spray cans, a phone, a router — and FitPrint designs the holder around it.

How the SKÅDIS fit check works

The accessory is modelled in a wall frame: the board front is the plane y = 0. FitPrint intersects the finished part with a virtual SKÅDIS board; only the hook tabs may pass through the slots. If anything else collides, the AI gets the exact position and fixes the model automatically. Wider parts get two or three hooks so they cannot tilt.

Printing tips for SKÅDIS hooks

  • FitPrint lays SKÅDIS parts on their side so the hook tabs print along the layers (strong) and without supports.
  • PETG or PLA both work; use at least 3 perimeters for hooks that carry tools.
  • Insert the top hooks, push the part up into the slot and let it drop — the lower pegs stop it from rotating.

Frequently asked questions

What are the IKEA SKADIS hole dimensions?

The slots are 5 mm wide and 15 mm tall with rounded ends, spaced 40 mm apart in each row, with a second row offset by 20 mm horizontally and vertically. The board is 5 mm thick. See the full SKÅDIS dimension guide for details.

Will the hooks fit third-party SKADIS-compatible boards?

Most compatible boards copy the IKEA slot pattern. If yours is thicker than 5 mm, mention it in your prompt.

How much weight can a printed SKADIS hook hold?

Typical PLA or PETG hooks with two tabs hold a few kilograms. For heavy tools use wider parts with three hooks and more perimeters.
